Pilgrim’s Way- What “gift” do you recommend to people that you feel is a gift to the world?
Dave- The “Autobiography of a Yogi” by Parmahansa Yogananda. That pretty much sums it up for me. That book gave me the most joy because it opened up endless possibilities for me. I think it is the most powerful spiritual book I’ve found.
PW- What motivated you to become part of the staff at Pilgrim’s Way?
D- The Pilgrim’s Way is the spiritual heart of this peninsula and I want to be part of it.
PW- Where did you grow up?
D- Los Angeles.
PW- What did your mother and father do?
D- My Dad was a railroad man for the Santa Fe Railroad. My Mom was a house wife.
PW- What was your most memorable job?
D- That would be when I was the manager of the Big Sur Lodge General Store.
PW- What is your favorite book or author and why?
D- Aside from the Autobiography of a Yogi, it would definitely be The Film Encyclopedia by Ephrain Katz. It’s the bible for all films.
PW- What is you favorite word?
D- Hope.
PW- What is your least favorite word?
D- Does George W. Bush count as a single word? Well, ok; then gossip.
PW- What turns you on?
D- The future.
PW- What turns you off?
D- Negativity.
PW– What sound or noise do you love?
D- The sound of water moving like an ocean or stream.
PW– What sound or noise do you hate?
D- Elevator music.
PW– What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt?
D- A Reference Librarian.
PW– What profession, other than your own, would you not like to attempt?
D- There’s so many,… I’d have to say door-to-door Sales.
PW– Finally, if heaven does exist, what would you like to hear God say when you enter the Pearly Gates?
D- Come on in!
