For the last forty years, Pilgrim’s Way has been a gem cherished by locals and tourists alike. Through the changes of the village around it, this store has remained a constant, in fact it is the only remaining bookstore of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Like the world around it, this little bookstore has evolved and expanded. It’s original specialty of metaphysics has sustained, but a wide variety of new books and merchandise have found a place on these shelves. With titles ranging from new release best sellers to children’s books, personal growth to comparative religions, and from nutrition to local interest; the store’s selection has proven to be as eclectic as the town’s residents.
As the selection has grown, so has the store. In 2001, Pilgrim’s Way expanded it’s reach into the Secret Garden and finding a hidden oasis. This charming garden shop features a collection of statues, plants, fountains and assorted local-made gifts.
Under the ownership of the husband and wife team, Paul Fridlund & Cynthia Fernandes, the store has become a thriving center of the community and features one of the last community bulletin boards. The store also has a focus on supporting historic Carmel. Through its sponsorship of local education, and its appreciation & support of local historic organizations, this is the perfect stop to educate, empower, inspire and enliven oneself while finding a special reminder of this seaside village.

Hi Kathryn,
Congratulations on your book. Thanks for the offer on reviewing it for a book signing; yes. Please send it to Paul’s attention at PO Box 1944, Carmel, CA 93921. Make sure and let us know how to contact you, when you are available (if you aren’t local) and in the case we don’t find it to be a good fit; if you want it returned to you. I look forward to seeing your work.
Sincerely,
Cynthia
